Dopo un anno di cammino, la Sony decise di presentare una delle sue fotocamere più trionfanti, la Cyber-shot DSC-H1. E lo fece doppiamente con le Cyber-shot DSC-H2 e H5. Convertitasi quest'ultima nel nuovo modello di punta delle compatte della marca (con l'anticipo della contundente Cyber-shot DSC-R1, sia chiaro), la H5 mantiene intatto il suo potente obiettivo di 12 ingrandimenti stabilizzati, anche se la sua firma va a carico ora della prestigiosa Carl Zeiss. Il resto delle novità bisogna ricercarle nella risoluzione (7 megapixel), la sensibilità (fino a 1000 ISO) e il display (3 pollici).
